About Micro-Credit Association Ghana

The Micro-Credit Association Ghana [MCAG], an agent for Bank of Ghana, was incorporated on May 2, 2010 as an umbrella organization for Micro-Credit Institutions  under the Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179) as an association Limited by Guarantee with the following objectives:To bring micro-credit operators under one umbrella organization,To network and develop professional relationship among members and all stakeholders,To partner other apex bodies and networks to build a unified front for advocacy in influencing microfinance policies of government, development partners and other regulatory bodies,To provide acceptable operating standards of practice for members and to internally monitor and regulate the operations of members.

Governing Council

Governing Board consists of ten members with one member being a woman. The Governing board is made of the Chairperson, the Vice Chairperson, three (3) Board members, and five other Board members from the four zones and the Executive Secretary.

STRATEGIC FOCUS

The Association initiated a process to prepare a Strategic Plan in 2014. The Plan outlines the Vision, Core values, Strategic goals and objectives, key interventions, performance indicators, phasing and implementation responsibilities or actors for the various projects identified.
